About the festival…
The Poetry Now Festival 2008 will be coming to Dun Laoghaire for its 13th year in 2008. This is one of Ireland’s most prestigious literary festivals and is, in fact, the only international festival devoted solely to poetry. This festival is your opportunity to hear and meet some of the most famous Irish and International poets.

Over the course of this festival there will be such events as readings, master classes, literary discussions, exhibitions, outreach programmes and children’s events. There will also be two annual awards The Irish Times Poetry Now Award and the Rupert & Eithne Strong Award for a young emerging Irish poet, which will be judged by famous Irish poet Louis de Paor.
The festival will be taking place in the Pavilion Theatre, in Dun Laoghaire from Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th of April and tickets range from €45-€80
About the venue…
The Pavillion Theatre is located on Marine Road overlooking in the beautiful harbour town of Dun Laoghaire which is about a 20 minute drive from Dublin city centre. The Pavillion Theatre can be found on the upper level of the Pavillion Complex across the road from the Dun Laoghaire DART station.

You can get the DART train from Connelly Station or Tara Street Station in the city centre or you can get bus numbers 7, 7A, 8, 45A, 46A, 59, 75 and 111 which will drop you off within a few steps of the venue.
