For all music fans out there the festival line up for Oxegen this year looks better than ever. From well-established rockers to the very best of new talent – don’t miss Oxegen 2008, the biggest musical event on the Irish calendar.
Oxegen is returning to the Punchestown Racecourse in Naas, County Kildare from July 11th to the 13th for its biggest ever festival – it’s said to be the ‘greatest rock ‘n’ roll weekend of the year. It’s going to be a fantastic mix of music and entertainment and in excess of 80,000 fans and music lovers will enjoy world-class musicians. And no matter what you’re into there’ll be something to suit all musical tastes.
There’ll be plenty of artists performing on various stages over the course of the weekend. This is just a round up of some of them. Kicking off on Friday 11th July the line up includes the Kings of Leon, Battles, Editors, Aphex Twin, Interpol as well as many more artists.
Headliners for Saturday 12th July include R.E.M., The Verve, The Prodigy, Stereophonics, Counting Crows, Amy Winehouse, The Charlatans, The Zutons, Panic at the Disco, Richard Hawley, Newton Faulkner Seasick Steve, The Hoosiers, Pendulum, Justice, Scouting For Girls, Bowling For Soup and many more.
And if you’re still in the mood for partying, Sunday the 13th July at Oxegen 2008 features Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová (winners of the 2008 Best Original Song Oscar) Rage Against The Machine, The Kaiser Chiefs, The Swell Season, The Fratellis, Ian Brown, The Feeling, Kate Nash, Roisin Murphy, Lightspeed Champion, Band of Horses, The Pogues, The Couteeners, Alabama 3 as well as a host of other artists
Three and four day Oxegen camping tickets were available but have all been snapped up – for the first year ever the camp sites are opening a day earlier on Thursday, hence the four day tickets. Three day (non camping) tickets can be purchased as well as individual day tickets.
It’s advisable to use public transport to get to the venue if you can as parking will be crazy. Dublin Bus and Marathon Travel will operates a shuttle service to and from Punchestown Racecourse.
