Belfast city has become a vibrant, fun and dynamic city and increasingly popular as a European city break destination. A new Belfast brand, which was launched this week by the Lord Mayor of Belfast, will aim to develop and promote Belfast city as a world class destination.

“Belfast’s moment is here”

These are the words of Lord Mayor Tom Hartley as he unveiled the new Belfast brand identity at the Waterfront Hall last Monday before 250 of the cities leading figures.

At the foremost of the new brand campaign is a heart-shaped ‘B’ logo. The essence of the brand is ‘This is Belfast’s moment’. The logo (which is the shape of a heart) reflects the city’s welcoming and friendly nature.  The logo also takes the outline of the letter ‘B’ which can be accompanied by the phrases ‘Be Welcoming’, ‘Be Energetic’ ‘Be Vibrant’, ‘Be Dynamic’, ‘Be Inspiring’ which are just some of the attributes that Belfast City Council would like visitors to associate Belfast with.

It is hoped that the new brand will endorse Belfast as an economic and social hub in Northern Ireland, attract visitors and investors to the city, help sell products and services in Belfast and to help market the city.

It will be seen on buses, billboards, road signs etc in the coming months.
