For a bunch of musicians that were just gathered together as a backing group for Linda Ronstadt (American singer/songwriter), the award winning group the Eagles sure have come a long way.

The group got together in 1971 and today only 2 of the most successful original members remain – Don Henley and Glen Frey. Joining them are Joe Walsh (a member since 1975) and Timothy B Schmit (a member since 1977).

To their credit the Eagles have 5 Grammy awards under their belt and were formally admitted to the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” in 1998 and to the “Vocal Group Hall of Fame” in 2001.

“Long Road out of Eden” was released in 2007 and is an album packed with completely new material. The album was a huge success in America first off and then went number one in several countries thereafter. The current world tour promoting this album began in March 2008 and is still going strong!

So it’s with great excitement that the Eagles Irish fans look forward to their much-anticipated Dublin gig at the RDS this summer.

Tickets available from Ticketmaster.
